Just days after Hurricane Ian hit the Lowcountry, Allison and Russ had their Shipyard Beach Club wedding. They met through online dating shortly after Allison moved to New Jersey. Their sense of humor is great, and they share many interests.
A member of their family owns property in Shipyard, and they have visited the area several times, so they decided it would be the perfect location for their destination wedding. Your wedding ceremony can be held on the beach or the deck of this Hilton Head wedding venue. The sound of waves breaking in the distance gave Allison and Russ’ ceremony a serene atmosphere.
My favorite thing about being a Hilton Head wedding photographer is having the option to take photos on the beach and at various greenery locations. What I love about weddings at the Shipyard Beach Club Hilton Head is the beautiful scenery!
Due to the storm, just days before they said their “I dos,” several family members and wedding party members could not attend because of delayed and canceled flights. Since their guest list had shortened, all of us wedding vendors came together to ensure they still had the wedding of their dreams!
Even though they were supposed to have more guests and members in their wedding party, I loved how special and intimate the day felt. The whole wedding day felt calm and not rushed.
As part of the guest book at their reception, they had their guests sign Jenga pieces and leave words of advice. They can read everything their guests wrote whenever they play Jenga together. Instead of having a wedding cake, they had individual pies in different flavors. My couples are always so exciting to work with when they make their wedding day truly their own instead of following the norm.
