Townsend and Frank have beautiful southern charm personalities that their Beaufort wedding venue also gives off. I absolutely love photographing Agapae Oaks weddings with all of the beauty the property has to offer. Even though it was a rainy summer day, wait until you see how magical their wedding day was!
They knew they were meant to be together from the moment they went on their first date. It was a stroll around downtown Columbia that brought the couple together for their first date, and it was the exact location where Frank proposed to her on their second anniversary.

Just a short drive from Beaufort, you’ll find Agapae Oaks on St. Helena Island. With Townsend growing up in South Carolina, and Frank spending time in boot camp in Beaufort, they knew they wanted a wedding on the coast of South Carolina. The historic main house is one of my favorite parts of this wedding venue. It dates back to 1790, and its charm and character are immaculate. The bridal suite where Townsend and her bridesmaids prepared for the wedding is so charming and provides an abundance of natural light. They wore matching pajamas in the morning, and I loved the faux fur sleeves on Townsend’s pajamas. Frank also got ready at the venue in a separate area, making it convenient for the couple to get ready at the same space but keep away from each other until the first look or ceremony.
With the crazy weather we can tend to have in the Lowcountry, I always keep my clear umbrellas in the car. Wedding photos shouldn’t be hampered by a little bit of rain on your big day. When I positioned Townsend and Frank for their first look, it was raining, but I gave each of them an umbrella, which was really cute. Afterward, we moved under the great southern covered porch of the main house for them to read their personal vows. There were so many emotions in this sweet and intimate moment.
We took several couple portraits before the ceremony and utilized a few spaces in the main house with such a classy look. One photo is my absolute favorite because it’s so timeless. Surely generations will see this photo someday, and it will be treasured for years to come. This is one aspect of my job that I absolutely adore!
A ceremony overlooking the marsh gave the perfect background for them to say their vows. This was a very special ceremony, officiated by her grandpa. The weather finally cleared up, and everyone enjoyed the rest of the evening socializing, dancing, and eating cake (they had 5 to choose from!)
I had a fantastic time celebrating this amazing couple, and photographing more Agapae Oaks weddings always makes my heart happy. Scroll through some of my favorites from their wedding day.
