Izzy and Josh’s Honey Horn Plantation wedding was on the perfect spring day with incredible weather! It was truly an amazing celebration of the love for the newlyweds.
These two were high school sweethearts and are such a fun couple! They were both cast as the leads of their high school play and while they didn’t know each other initially, an instant connection started. Growing up, Izzy would visit the Coastal Discovery Museum and did a few events there while working with a florist. She always envisioned getting married here one day.
Weddings at Honey Horn Plantation are unique as it’s not your typical Hilton Head wedding venue! Beach weddings are always radiant and beautiful, but it excites me when I photograph weddings with natural settings that include live oak trees and Spanish Moss.
Once this couple was ready for their big day, we set them up for a first look. As Josh turned around, they both had the biggest smiles. I always let my couples take as much time as they want during this precious moment. They had decided to read letters to one another and soak in the day before everything started. Josh and Izzy had their wedding ceremony under the oak trees, and there is nothing better than this Lowcountry backdrop to say your vows. In honor of Izzy’s love of Taylor Swift, instrumental Taylor Swift songs were played throughout the ceremony.
The reception occurred under the covered pavilion, and a beautiful brick fireplace added to the cozy atmosphere. We slipped out of the reception for a few minutes to grab more portraits of them at the boardwalk that makes for breathtaking images! Everyone had such a fabulous night on the dance floor wearing a pair of pink heart-shaped sunglasses. Once the evening ended, these two exited the venue with cold fireworks, which was so cool!
