Wormsloe Wedding | Matt + Taylor
Savannah Wedding Photographer
Taylor and Matt joined for their Wormsloe Wedding, a beautiful blend of classic Southern charm and timeless elegance set against the picturesque backdrops of Wormsloe Historic Site and Desoto Wedding Venue. Despite the unpredictable weather, love, laughter, and unforgettable moments filled the day.
The day began with a gentle rain and paused just in time for the ceremony. The couple’s choice of Wormsloe as their ceremony venue was perfect, accommodating their guest list with its expansive grounds. The Spanish moss-dripping live oak-lined avenue created an enchanting setting.
As Taylor and her bridesmaids got ready, the excitement was apparent. It was heartwarming to see the bridesmaids react to the bride’s reveal with joy and admiration. Meanwhile, Matt and his groomsmen shared a hearty whiskey toast, celebrating the last moments of bachelorhood with camaraderie and cheer.
The couple had a private first look before the ceremony, which was intimate and emotional. It allowed them to share their excitement and nerves and made for stunning photos that captured the depth of their connection.
A trolley transported the wedding party to the ceremony site, adding a charming touch to the southern ambiance. Taylor and Matt stood beneath the ancient oaks, with soft light filtering through the leaves, for their ceremony at the Wormsloe Historic Site Wedding.
Following the ceremony, the reception at Desoto Wedding Venue was a lively affair. Panoramic views of Savannah’s skyline and St. John the Baptist Cathedral provided a stunning backdrop for portraits, treating guests to a private reception in the Harborview Room. Inspired by chinoiserie China, the elegant light blue, navy, ivory, and gold decor created a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere.
One of the highlights was the saber cutting of the cake, a nod to Matt’s military service. He looked dashing in his military uniform, and the tradition added a unique and personal touch to the celebration. The DJ packed the dance floor, ensuring everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, had a great time. Taylor and Matt’s joy was contagious, spreading to all who attended.
As the night drew to a close, guests lined up for a streamer exit, creating a vibrant send-off for the newlyweds. It was a fitting end to a day that perfectly captured the essence of who Taylor and Matt are: a couple deeply in love, surrounded by friends and family, enjoying every moment together.
Reflecting on the day, I’m grateful to have witnessed and captured the magic of Taylor and Matt’s ceremony at Wormsloe Historic Site Wedding and their vibrant reception at Desoto Wedding Venue. Their love story began over sushi by the river and blossomed into a beautiful celebration they will cherish for years.
Congratulations, Taylor and Matt! I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Enjoy scrolling through some of my favorite images from their Wormsloe wedding.
