Oyster Factory Park Wedding | Taylor + Katie
Bluffton Wedding Photographer | Oyster Factory Park
Katie and Taylor’s wedding at Oyster Factory Park in Bluffton, SC, was magical. The picturesque setting by the May River and the beautiful spring weather created the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love and joy.
Having known each other since attending a small Christian school, Katie and Taylor’s relationship has been a beautiful journey. After starting to date just before high school graduation, they spent their college years apart but grew stronger through the experience. Their tight-knit group of friends, who have supported them from the start, were right by their side as they took this next step in their journey.
Katie and Taylor chose Oyster Factory Park for its serene, laid-back feel and because Bluffton holds a special place in their hearts. Katie attended college here, and they have memories of time spent here. With the waterfront views and the park’s rustic charm, it was easy to see why this spot was the perfect choice for their celebration.
Katie’s morning began with moments shared with her mom, who helped her into her breathtaking dress—the dress adorned with delicate flowers, perfectly balanced elegance, and whimsy. Katie’s bouquet was a bright and vibrant mix of spring florals, perfectly complementing the bridesmaids’ dresses in springy colors.
Before heading to the ceremony, Katie had a touching first look with her dad and bridesmaids. The excitement and emotion were noticeable, which lasted the rest of the day.
The May River provided the backdrop for the outdoor ceremony at this popular wedding venue in Bluffton SC. Gorgeous floral arrangements greeted guests as they arrived, lining the entrance of the aisle and framing the altar. These florals also matched the beautiful blooms featured on Katie and Taylor’s wedding invitations—a subtle yet thoughtful detail that tied everything together.
Katie and Taylor’s ceremony was deeply personal and meaningful, with a special moment of communion that reflected their shared faith. The combination of the breathtaking setting, vibrant florals, and heartfelt words created a truly unforgettable scene.
They held the reception at the same venue, stringing café lights around, adding a soft lighting touch to the evening. They thoughtfully decorated each table with small vases of flowers matching the wedding florals, adding adorable photos of Katie and Taylor at the age corresponding to each table number. I loved this personal touch—it gave guests a glimpse into their journey through the years.
One of the highlights of the evening was the unique food setup. Katie and Taylor opted for a pizza truck and a beer truck, and it was such a hit! Having food trucks at weddings is becoming a popular trend, and it’s easy to see why—who doesn’t love the relaxed, fun vibe of grabbing pizza fresh from the oven? It added to the laid-back atmosphere they wanted for their day.
During the reception, we snuck away for golden hour photos. Katie and Taylor looked radiant, with the sun’s glow setting perfectly complementing their wedding’s color palette.
As the evening continued, the dance floor came alive! With props and endless energy, Katie, Taylor, and their guests danced the night away, creating a fun atmosphere. The laughter and celebration were infectious—it was impossible not to feel the love and happiness in the air.
The night concluded with guests blowing bubbles, and Katie and Taylor exited in a decorated golf cart. It was the perfect ending to a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Photographing Katie and Taylor’s wedding at Oyster Factory Park was truly an honor. This venue has recently undergone some beautiful upgrades, and the waterfront location is perfect for a spring wedding. It provided endless opportunities for stunning photos, from the natural beauty of the May River to the carefully curated details that made this day so unique to Katie and Taylor.
I’m so grateful to have captured these special moments for such a sweet couple. Their journey from high school friends to husband and wife is a beautiful testament to love, growth, and shared adventure.
