Capturing Shay and Eithan’s stunning Agapae Oaks wedding, which is one of the loveliest wedding venues near Beaufort SC was an absolute honor! With its grand oaks, elegant Spanish moss, and timeless Southern charm, this beautiful venue set the scene for a classic Lowcountry celebration. The warm fall day was perfect, and I couldn’t have asked for a better setting to document their love story. Shay and Eithan’s journey began over a decade ago at a bonfire, shaping their lives ever since. Capturing this next chapter in their journey was a true pleasure.
The day began in the charming getting-ready space, where Shay’s bridesmaids, dressed in adorable matching PJs, gathered with her to get ready, sharing plenty of laughter and excitement. As a Beaufort SC Photographer, I find this space to be one of my favorite spots at Agapae Oaks. With the warm light and Southern elegance, it made for such natural, beautiful photos. Shay looked radiant, surrounded by her closest friends in soft dusty blue dresses, each in a unique style that reflected their individual tastes. The florals were a vision in white, with elegant bouquets featuring delicate white anemones and lush greenery that perfectly complemented the wedding colors of navy blue, dusty blue, white, and sage green.
The ceremony took place under a majestic oak tree draped with Spanish moss, where a beautiful wedding tree arch, adorned with flowing white fabric, added to the breathtaking scene. Shay walked down the aisle to meet Eithan, who looked sharp in his navy suit and white tie, perfectly complemented by his groomsmen in matching navy suits with dusty blue ties. Shay and Eithan’s love was clear under the soft light filtering through the tree branches, making each moment memorable.
After the ceremony, guests made their way behind the house for a tented reception filled with Southern charm. Shay and Eithan incorporated many special details that made this day feel uniquely theirs. The seating chart featured oyster shells as decoration, while each place setting included an oyster shell with guests’ names, adding a personal touch that I loved. The tables featured elegant white linens, blue accent napkins, delicate votive candles, stunning floral centerpieces, and gold taper candle holders. The unique reception chairs and wagon-wheel chandeliers under the tent created a warm, inviting ambiance.
Just before sunset, I took Shay and Eithan to the dock and the oak tree for golden hour portraits. The light was soft and magical, gently illuminating the Spanish moss and casting a warm glow over these intimate moments. These are some of my favorite photos from the day, and I know Shay and Eithan will cherish them as they look back on the warmth and beauty of this special evening.
As night fell and the tent lights twinkled to life, Shay and Eithan enjoyed their first dance, surrounded by their friends and family, followed by heartwarming toasts and the traditional cake cutting. Shay had a little surprise up her sleeve, changing into a fun reception dress to dance the night away. The energy was electric as everyone celebrated the happy couple, with lighted ribbon wands in hand, cheering Shay and Eithan as they made their grand exit down the Main House stairs. They hopped onto a “just married” golf cart, waving goodbye with big smiles as they headed off to start their new life together.
