Nestled in the heart of Bluffton, SC, this private Lowcountry gem offers an unforgettable backdrop for any couple dreaming of a Southern, classic, and charming celebration. Chandler and Will’s wedding at the Nicklaus Clubhouse at Colleton River Club perfectly reflects everything this venue offers. The moment I drove through the gates, Southern elegance surrounded me. A canopy of towering Live Oaks, their branches adorned with Spanish moss, lines the road leading guests toward a secluded haven nestled beside the Colleton River. The waterfront views alone are enough to take your breath away, and they only get better as the day unfolds.
Chandler began her day getting ready with her bridesmaids, and the excitement was unmistakable. Her dress was stunning, and every detail felt perfectly suited to her. It had the most delicate sleeves, which appeared to be a detachable overlay buttoned in the back. The bridesmaids wore matching dresses, while the maid of honor stood out in a beautiful patterned version. This added a subtle and stylish twist to the classic palette.
Before the ceremony, Chandler and Will shared a first look under the oak trees on the golf course. With sunlight filtering through the Spanish moss and the river glistening just beyond the fairway, it made for a quiet, intimate moment that was truly beautiful to capture. They also exchanged private vows—just the two of them—which felt incredibly meaningful amidst the vast open landscape of Colleton River Club.
The ceremony unfolded on a manicured lawn with expansive water views as the backdrop. The onsite event staff had everything flowing seamlessly, and the floral design was stunning. A grounded arch of white roses, blue hydrangeas, light blue delphinium, and lush greenery framed the space beautifully without blocking the view. It was simple, elegant, and entirely in harmony with the surroundings.
Colleton River Club truly shines during golden hour, and we took full advantage of the golf course and waterfront for newlywed and wedding party portraits. The fall light was warm and golden, casting everything in a soft, dreamy glow. The size of the wedding party was impressive, and the wide-open landscape allowed us to capture it all without feeling crowded. This venue offers endless opportunities for timeless photos—everywhere you turn feels like a page out of a storybook.
Between the onsite cottages for overnight guests, the attentive staff, and the overall charm of the property, Colleton River Club is the ultimate venue for the wedding of your dreams. Chandler and Will made thoughtful choices throughout the day, but choosing this venue was truly the heart of it all. From start to finish, it was a celebration wrapped in love, beauty, and the best of the Lowcountry.
