Forsyth Park Fountain Proposal
Photographing Kegan and Lexi’s Savannah proposal in Forsyth Park was one of those magical moments that remind me exactly why I love what I do. The joy, the nerves, the sheer sweetness of it all, it never gets old. And with the stunning Forsyth Fountain as our backdrop, framed by oak trees and Spanish moss, everything came together perfectly for this intimate proposal.
Leading up to the big moment, we’d been planning every detail to make sure it felt just right. Lexi, with her eye for beauty, chose the exact spot where she imagined it would all happen: right in front of the iconic fountain she loved. I laid down a small piece of tape earlier in the day to guide Kegan to the perfect spot (a little behind-the-scenes trick!), and then waited for the magic to unfold.
They strolled through the park hand-in-hand, carrying that quiet anticipation only a surprise proposal can bring. Kegan paused in front of the fountain as sunlight glowed through the trees and dropped to one knee. Lexi’s reaction was pure joy. You could feel the emotion ripple through the moment, the kind that stays with you long after the ring is on the finger.
After she said yes and a few happy tears fell, we wandered through Forsyth Park to soak in all its beauty. We captured their newly-engaged bliss under the canopy of live oaks, the Spanish moss dancing above them like nature’s confetti. Every glance they shared radiated promise and connection.
Their story is as beautiful as the setting. Lexi said they met through a mutual friend when she joined a party without knowing anyone, not even Kegan. One unexpected night, some laughter over drinks, and easy conversation, and the two of them have been inseparable ever since. Even when Kegan moved 1,000 miles away for his master’s degree, nothing could keep them apart. Within weeks, she joined him down south, and now, two pups and countless memories later, they’re starting the next chapter of their story.
We wrapped up the session at the stately Kessler/Armstrong Mansion, where the wrought iron fence created a romantic frame. The architecture, the light, and their joy made for the perfect ending.
