It was a bright early morning for Katie and Sean’s couples photoshoot. We did a sunrise session for them at Hunting Island State Park in Beaufort.
This location is a gemstone for photos on the beach. Five miles of beach extend across this State Park. It’s excellent for sunrise sessions, as the sun rises directly over the water. I know sunrise is early, but it’s totally worth it! At the start of the session, the moon was still visible.
South Carolina’s Hunting Island State Park is its most popular state park, attracting more than a million visitors a year. It offers 5,000 acres of beach, marsh, maritime forest, and a lighthouse, pier, saltwater lagoon, and nature center. Considering how much the park provides, it has become a natural wonderland, and it is now home to such unexpected species as seahorses and barracudas. One of my favorite parts of this beach is its driftwood. I love including the driftwood as a background or part of the photos.
Sean and Katie loved visiting Hunting Island State Park while they were dating. And now that they are married, they continue going. It was exciting to be in their favorite spot and capture their favorite thing to do together!
Katie wore a pink dress to match the sunrise colors, and it did perfectly! We got gorgeous hues of pink and orange during the sunrise, and their outfits coordinated so well together. Dolphins were seen in the distance during the session.
It was so great catching up with these two! I photographed their wedding at Jasmine River Road House in Columbia. They wanted some updated photos, and I’m glad I could photograph them again. Everyone deserves updated photos, and I especially love meeting up with my past couples!
