A day filled with warmth, beachy vibes, and a beautiful couple with an undeniable connection perfectly describes my most recent Shipyard Beach Club Hilton Head wedding.
Their journey is a testament to the twists and turns of fate. Sarah and Matt’s history dates back to their younger years, dating during high school and college. Life led them in different directions, but a serendipitous reunion in 2021 brought them back together. Despite a few attempts to “blow him off” (in Sarah’s own words), their bond proved unbreakable.
The day kicked off with anticipation – a “long time coming,” as their family lovingly put it. The Shipyard Beach Club provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate, low-key affair. With palm trees swaying and the ocean in the background, it was the ideal blend of a beachy atmosphere without being directly on the sand.
The emotional first look between Sarah and Matt set the tone for the day. What started as a tender moment turned into pure happiness and countless smiles. Their connection and history allowed them to be partners and true friends, creating an atmosphere of comfort and joy.
One of the unique aspects of their day was the inclusion of their furry friends, Hank and Stevie. These adorable dogs stood proudly with the couple during the ceremony, adding an extra touch of love to the occasion.
As a photographer, I was thrilled to witness their trust in my creative direction and timeline. Sarah and Matt’s laid-back nature allowed for a seamless flow, creating a stress-free environment for everyone involved. I suggested a first look and a fantastic DJ, knowing it would ease their shyness as a couple and make the day even more memorable.
The ceremony took place against the backdrop of the ocean, with the sound of waves adding a serene touch to their vows. We captured pictures of them on the beach, highlighting the love and connection surrounding them.
