When Riley and Andrew contacted me, I knew their wedding would be totally awesome. They had been together for over five years, and their bond was evident. They wanted their wedding to be as unique and spunky as their personalities. Their wedding in Forsyth Park Savannah GA was perfect, offering a picturesque and lively setting for their celebration.
Early spring in Savannah, particularly in February, offers a beautiful mix of mild weather and blossoming flowers. Riley and Andrew’s wedding day was no exception. The ceremony took place in the heart of Forsyth Park, surrounded by the lush greenery and iconic fountain, making this spot a favorite for locals and visitors.
One of the most touching moments of the day was Riley and Andrew’s first look. Andrew’s eyes filled with tears as he saw Riley in her stunning dress. It was clear just how much this moment meant to both of them. After this emotional first look, we took couple photos with a vintage car parked in front of The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Newlyweds always have fun leaving in a getaway car, which can also be included in some of your wedding pictures.
The ceremony itself was a blend of tradition and personal flair. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Riley and Andrew exchanged vows under the canopy of Forsyth Park’s majestic trees and in front of Forsyth Park’s fountain. The colorful bouquets, rich in red, pink, and orange with hints of yellow, added a striking contrast to the black dresses of the bridesmaids. Having a Forsyth Park wedding requires getting a permit from the city of Savannah, and you have to hire an off-duty police officer to ensure everything runs smoothly.
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to Collins Quarter at Forsyth Park. This unique dining destination, nestled within the park, provided a scenic backdrop for the reception. The retro-colored wedding details—bright invitation suites, mini disco balls, bedazzled sunglasses, and a beautiful bottle of Veuve du Vernay Rose—added a fun and eclectic vibe. Guests greeted Riley and Andrew with paper lanterns, creating a magical start to the evening festivities.
Riley and Andrew prioritized their portraits, wanting to capture the essence of Savannah in their wedding photos. They love the city of Savannah and all the fun things and outdoor life it offers. We visited the Starland District, taking pictures against vibrant murals and on the steps of Starland Strange and Bazaar. We also stopped by the Olde Pink House, an iconic Savannah location. Their names on the marquee at the Historic Savannah Theatre added a touch of Hollywood glamour to the festivities.
Riley and Andrew’s attention to detail and love for their family and friends shone throughout the day. As a keepsake from their wedding day, they had their guests sign and leave messages on fabric squares, which will be stitched together into a quilt. Family portraits in Forsyth Park included everyone who attended their wedding, capturing the joy and togetherness of the celebration.
